How exciting. Beijing Fashion Week. I looked at a bunch more of these designs because the first thing I thought of was the Silk Road!! So much of the decor reminded me of the Indian tribes of the American Southwest. Is Xinjiang considered the western frontier of China? Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous.

"Friday saw the unveiling at the Beijing Hotel of well-known Xinjiang designer Sun Xiuqin's collection, which celebrates the splendid Silk Road clothing culture and Xinjiang's bright future.

Qiuci Beauty designer Sun Xiuqin is a first-level fashion designer at the Xinjiang Military Region Art Troupe and chairperson of Xinjiang Clothing Designer Association. Sun's artistic vision and innovative use of silk, brocade, cashmere, leather as well as her specialized craft techniques of embroidery, dyeing and weaving express the essence of Qiuci culture and the infinite charm of Xinjiang."

Usually I just study the photos. The designs are always so beautiful. The fabrics are to die for. The handiwork is exquisite. The models are extraordinarily beautiful. These photos just happened to have the designers name so I could look further!
